Vi-Shape Nutritional Shape Mix – “Fast Food” Made Healthy

90 Day ChallengeThese days, everything is made quick and easy. You can answer emails, calls, or even run a business from your phone. What about lunch or dinner? Same thing. Meals are  already done for you and can be microwaved in a matter of minutes.

For me personally, before I started on the 90 Day Challenge, the last thing on my mind was nutrition. I was always in a rush throughout the day and the last thing I thought about was eating a well-balanced and healthy diet.

Then I got introduced to the Vi-Shape Nutritional Shape Mix.

You honestly can’t find a better product for the price. For breakfast, I would head to Tim Hortons or McDonald’s to get a breakfast sandwich. Not the best choice, but it was quick and simple solution to feed the hunger. When you look at the big picture, loading up on 820g of sodium and 400 calories of garbage isn’t the best idea when you want to get into shape. It literally takes me 5 minutes to make a vi-shake and I get the complete nutrition I need - FAST

Does healthy food actually cost more?

Healthy eating

Is it really more expensive to eat healthy? A study in the U.S. shows that might not actually be the case.

For most people trying to change their diet, one of the biggest concerns is the cost of food. In reality, it really depends on the way you look at it.

The U.S. government believes it’s how you measure the price. If you compare the price per calorie, processed snacks and other junk food seem like a complete steal when you compare them to fruits and vegetables. But, if you compare the cost of food by portion size or weight, vegetables, fruit, and dairy foods are less expensive than foods high in saturated fat, added sugars or salt.

I read today that a report from the University of Washington suggested that “calorie-for-calorie junk food is more cost-effective for low-income people than eating healthy”.

Wait….what???

Obesity is a growing problem. Not only in the U.S., but Canada as well.  More than a third of U.S. adults are obese according to the U.S. government, and researchers expect that number to grow to 42 per cent by 2030. That my friends, is an epidemic.

It may look like that bag of Doritos is a great deal at $2 and in the end, will probably fill you up. But, those empty calories are not giving your body the nutrition it desperately needs to get you through the day.

Shop smart and healthy eating can be more affordable. Can’t afford fresh fruit or vegetables? Try frozen or canned. Trust me, your body and mind will thank you later!

Looking for a Pre-Run snack?

What are the chances you’ve gone for a short run on an empty stomach? I’m gonna take a guess and say that you have. But don’t worry, you’re not alone! Most people decide to skip having a snack because they feel it might affect their performance. In reality, you’re actually hindering your workout more than you’re helping it.

The right snack can prevent premature fatigue and keep blood sugar levels steady. An Orange has only 62 calories. It also contains more than 100 percent of your daily Vitamin C needs. Not only is it the perfect snack to curb the hunger, but Vitamin C helps prevent muscle injuries and replaces collagen in muscle fibers that break down during exercise.

So next time you need a boost before you head out on that jog, go grab an orange!
